A team of the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF), has encouraged that the Bayelsa State Government key into its Scheme.
This happened during a courtesy call to the Director General, Bayelsa Investment Promotion Agency(BIPA) on Wednesday 9th April, 2025 in the DG’s office, Annex 6, Secretariat.
Patience Abah Esq, The Director General, BIPA while speaking, thanked the NSITF team for an enlightening presentation.
She however recommended and suggested that to make the Scheme domicile and impactful in the State, the NSITF team should:

Seek to engage the Head of Service on the Civil Servant’s angle.

Seek to engage the Secretary to the State Government on the political angle
Mr Muke Walter, speaking earlier, said that the purpose of their visit was to seek assistance from the Agency to have interface with the Government.
He also stated that the Insurance Scheme was very beneficial as it makes provision for occupational injuries and hazards, thus encouraged that the State key into it.
Mr Muke stated that for an employee to benefit from all that NSITF offers, is a fee of 1% payment of the total emolument of the organization.
Mrs Omogbemi Bodisere Edna, the Principal Manager, Claims and Compensation, while reeling out the benefits of the Scheme, stated that the list of injuries covered are not closed, as long as they can be medically proven.
She also said that the Scheme covers any and all injuries that occur, that are work related and that the benefits are fully and dully captured in the “Employees Compensation Act 2010”, ranging from Monetary Benefits to Non-Monetary Benefits.
Mrs Omogbemi affirmed that the Scheme has had success in every application, especially at the Federal level.
Also present in the meeting were Mr Filatei Diete S, the Principal Manager, Finance and Account(NSITF), Mr Preye Usukoromogha, HOD, Human Resource Management, BIPA and Timilamini George I, Work Flow Coordinator, BIPA.
